McAfee announced the completion of its tender offer to acquire Finland-based Stonesoft Oyj, makers of physical and virtual network security products. McAfee says the move will help customers realize the company’s Security Connected strategy.
EMC also announced the acquisition of Aveksa Inc, joining EMC’s RSA security division. Aveksa makes identity and access management products, which RSA will be implementing in its Adaptive IAM to help organizations manage user access in the enterprise and the cloud.
Independent security consultant Dan Farmer found serious flaws in the encryption method of the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) protocol, which communicates with a server’s Baseboard Management Controller to report temperature, cooling fan speeds, and power and OS statuses.
Citrix XenDesktop 7 is now available on Microsoft’s Windows Azure, enabling live session roaming, Windows Server-based session desktops, and support for multiple devices.
