Here are some of the technology stories that caught our eye today:

Ken Hess writes about one of the more overlooked features of virtual machines, short reboot times. This makes maintenance and troubleshooting easier, keeps servers up longer, and saves money by reducing labor costs.

Citrix XenMobile won the Best of Interop award in the Wireless, Mobility, and BYOD Support category last week. XenMobile is Citrix’s enterprise mobility management solution, allowing users to access their desktops, files, and apps from anywhere and any device, while allowing IT departments to manage access and security.

Last week, Blue Coat announced the acquisition of Netronome’s SSL appliance product line, which Blue Coat says will enhance their ability to enable a safe and productive Internet experience for enterprises.

EMC announced new Proven Solutions for private clouds, allowing companies to simplify the design, deployment, and operation of virtualized SAP solutions. EMC is further integrating SAP and VMware services within their own products, and outlines automated disaster recovery of SAP.
