Here are some of the technology stories that caught our eye today:

Federal prosecutors in New Jersey filed charges against five Eastern European men suspected of running a global hacking operation against banks, retailers, and credit card processing companies. The men allegedly stole the data of over 160 million credit cards and caused hundreds of millions of dollars in financial losses.

The OpenDaylight Project announced new additions to the open-source SDN framework, including Java-based implementations of Cisco’s Border Gateway Protocol and Path Computation Element Protocol.

Microsoft is opening a limited early adopter program for its scalable cloud-programming framework, Orleans. Orleans uses computational units, called grains, which communicates with other grains and clients.
