Total Compensation Range: $180,000 - $200,000
You will act as the technical lead throughout the sales cycle, partnering closely with Account Executives, OEM partners, and internal delivery teams. Success in this role requires deep hands-on technical experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to independently run complex evaluations and proofs-of-concept.
Description of Duties:
- Lead technical discovery to understand customer environments, risks, and business drivers.
- Design and present security architectures aligned to zero trust principles.
- Deliver customized live product demonstrations and solution walk-throughs.
- Scope, build, and execute proof-of-concept engagements from start-to-finish.
- Serve as the trusted technical advisor to CISOs, security architects, and IT leadership.
- Support Account Executives with solution strategy, technical validation, and competitive positioning.
- Respond to technical portions of RFPs and security questionnaires.
- Collaborate with services and delivery teams to ensure a clean transition post-sale.
- Maintain strong relationship with OEM / vendor partners and stay current on new technologies.
- Adheres to all company policies and security controls
Required Technical Experience
Candidates must have hands-on experience (not just theoretical knowledge) across one of the following domains:
Network & Access Security
- Next-generation firewalls.
- SASE / ZTNA architectures.
- Secure remote access and network segmentation.
Identity & Access Management
- IAM, PAM, MFA, SSO.
- Zero trust identity concepts.
- Experience with platforms such as CyberArk, Okta, Entra ID, or similar.
Endpoint Security
- EDR / XDR platforms.
- Malware protection, threat detection, and response.
- Ability to confidently demo and explain endpoint tooling.
Vendor Experience
- Familiarity with leading security vendors such as Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, CyberArk, Proofpoint, or comparable technologies.
Preferred / Additional Experience
- Cloud security (Azure. AWS, GCP).
- Managed security systems (MDR, SOC, SIEM / XDR).
- Email security, data protection, DLP, or ransomware mitigation.
- Experience working for a VAR, MSSP, integrator, or cybersecurity vendor.
- Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, vendor certs) are a plus but not required.
Professional Skills
- Strong presentation and whiteboarding skills for both technical and executive audiences.
- Ability to clearly explain complex security concepts in plain language.
- Consultative mindset with a focus on customer outcomes.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple active opportunities.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced sales environment.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity pre-sales, sales engineering, or solutions architecture.
- Proven experience supporting enterprise or complex mid-market customers.
- Willingness to travel regionally within the Northeast as needed.
