Notice for Potential Candidates

Gotham Technology Group has been made aware of recruitment scams that misuse company names, branding, and similar email addresses or social media accounts to target legitimate staffing agencies and their potential candidates. These recruitment scams try to obtain sensitive personal and financial information from candidates in order to commit identity theft or financial fraud.

To help safeguard against recruitment scams, candidates are strongly encouraged to confirm the authenticity of any communications from Gotham Technology Group.

Gotham Will NEVER
  • Send candidates communications from generic email addresses ending in anything other than @gothamtg.com (e.g., @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, etc.)
  • Request sensitive personal information prior to a job offer being extended or accepted (e.g., Social Security Number)
  • Request payment for job placement or application fees at any point during the hiring process
  • Request payment for equipment, supplies, or shipping costs to begin an assignment
  • Ask for credit card or bank account information during the interview process
  • Offer you a position without applying or interviewing for a role
Gotham Will ALWAYS
  • Require applicants to interview with a Gotham employee in person or online via an official Gotham Microsoft Teams channel prior to the extension of a job offer
  • Communicate with candidates via email addresses ending in @gothamtg.com

  • A thorough initial phone screening with one of our Technical Recruiters
  • A video meet through Microsoft Teams so our Recruiters can get to know you, your motivations, aspirations, and career requirements
  • A clear presentation of any opportunity that we believe would be a good match for you, keeping in mind career goals and whether our client would be the right cultural fit for you
  • Preparation calls with our client representatives, and when relevant and helpful, members of our Engineering team
  • A thorough interview debriefing to help you weigh the pros/cons and solve any possible hurdles to ensure the right match of our client and their role to you
  • Extensive use of our expertise in negotiating the best offer for both you and our client
  • Guidance in helping you transition from your current to next career opportunity

All of these will happen before you are asked to provide any personal information, including consent to background checks and assistance in onboarding for your new role.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
